  • To the reviewer who had several hostile and negative things to say about Virginia Hills Church, have you taken the time to attend more than one service? Have you taken Biblical steps to address those who offended you (read Matthew 18:15-17) before publicly maligning the character of people you've only met briefly? After one short visit, you describe a church-full of people as pompous, pretentious and entitled. I had a much different first impression of the people of this church and after spending the time to get to know this diverse group of people who you cover with one cynical blanket, my first impression has been confirmed. Virginia Hills Church is a church full of humble, genuine and gracious people. I pledge to pray for this cynic and pray that he will find a church that he can he can take the time to get to know and give the people of that church some time to get to know him.

I had hopes for this church. I really did. At first impression, it seemed like it would be a nice place to worship and fellowship. I had friendly banter with the head pastor, via email. Things were looking up for me. I thought I had finally found a church that would both welcome me and actually let me serve in the Youth Ministry (which is something God has been calling me to do for many years). That was...until I actually got there, and experienced this sanctimonious church for myself.

The people at this church are obnoxiously pompous, pretentious, and entitled. If you are ridiculously wealthy and shamelessly materialistic, this is definitely the church for you. You will fit right in. When you walk into the church, the smug atmosphere is so thick, you could literally slice it with a butter knife. The only one who spoke to me was Eric (the lead pastor). Oh, and his wife spoke to me very briefly, before losing interest and moving on to someone more important. This church is wonderful, if you are a snob, and think highly of yourself, and only prefer to talk to others who are swimming in riches and prosperity.

However, if you are more like Jesus, and have a personality and a nature that is more on the humble (and courteous) side of the spectrum, you will find this church to be very cold and indifferent.

The youth pastor her (Stephen Marut) is a joke. Unless you have a lot of money to bribe him with, you will be ignored by this man. He's not interested in God, but rather making a prophet off those who are. He asked for my personal information, misleading me to believe that he was considering me for a position with their Student (Youth) ministry. As soon as I accommodated his request, I was shunned and ignored. If I had money to throw at him, it would have been a different story.

The head pastor (Eric Reploeg) is a Real Eastate mogul who wasn't satisfied with the money he was making there, so his lust for greed inspired him to be a "Christian" pastor, so that he could benefit from the tax-exempt advantages of an already lucrative business and overly generous congregation.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the restrooms in this church are ornamented with animal heads on the walls. Needless to say, this should set off a red flag to any legitimate Christian. Any church, or preacher, who endorses, advocates, or embraces hunting...or the perverse love of guns...is no child of the King. Jesus was called the Lamb of God, the Lion of Judah, and was often referred to as a dove. Christ is called the "final sacrifice" for a reason, and anyone who has truly read the Bible, knows that. Jesus was a gentle pacifist who gave a message of peace and love, not a narcissist who took joy from slaughtering God's creation. Hunting is not only anti-Christian, it's a sadistic atrocity. Hunting would only be a "sport,' if the animals were armed too, which we all know they're not.

Christians speak out against abortion, but yet thrive on the senseless murder of wildlife. This contradiction alone should show us the gross hypocrisy of the pseudo-Christian church.

  • This church has always blessed my heart through their worship and through the great teaching!

  • Our family loves this church! They are warm, friendly and the messages always feed and encourage us to continue, everyday to grow in the Lord. BONUS: They have 2 services, provide brunch, have a 'come as you are' atmosphere and publish sermons online!
